YELFiN is for parents, carers and other everyday users who want to understand digital platforms and build informed habits. Its family journeys focus on children’s online experiences; its platform library and tools also cover wider privacy, scam, AI and technology concerns.
The YELFiN platform library covers Experience, Influence, Immersive, AI & Intelligence, Anonymity & Evasion, Commerce, Frontier, and Device & Control. Explore key risks, recommended actions, less obvious features and privacy settings as the library grows. The categories are YELFiN’s educational framework; a risk label is not a guarantee or a judgement about every user.
Tools includes a ten-item iOS Safety Setup, a ten-item Android Safety Setup and an eight-item Social Media Audit. Use them to structure a settings review. You make the changes yourself; YELFiN does not inspect accounts, apply settings or monitor devices.
Ask an anonymised general question about platforms, risks or settings. The free screen starts with five questions available; check the app for your remaining allowance and current Pro terms. Answers can be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date and are not professional or emergency advice. Questions are transmitted to external providers. Never submit personal, sensitive, confidential or child-identifying information. Read the Privacy Policy.
Follow a sequence of learning, checklist, action and quiz steps for a real-life situation. The app shows My Child Just Got a Phone and I’m Worried About My Child in the free experience. Journeys about gaming, AI tools and social media are marked Pro. Journeys support understanding; they do not determine whether abuse has occurred.
Five-question quizzes help you test what you understand. Learn progresses through awareness, understanding and real-life application. Some introductory quizzes are free; additional groups and levels are marked Pro. Use the result to identify what to learn next, rather than treating it as a security assessment.
Search terms and emoji references, or browse categories such as gaming, AI, scams and bullying. Entries provide meanings and context. Language varies by age, region and conversation; one term or emoji does not prove intent or harm. Use it to ask a supportive question.
The Alerts area presents briefings about digital risks and platform developments. Use a briefing as a prompt to read its source and consider whether it applies to you. It is not a scan of your device, a personalised threat alert or a guarantee that every risk is covered.
The Digital Safety Score, streaks, points and badges track learning progress. Pro includes the YELFiN Journey with modules and Bronze, Silver and Gold achievements. These are in-app learning achievements, not accredited professional qualifications or proof that a device or person is safe.
The Academy contains deeper educational modules on digital-safety subjects. Browse the app to see current module access and Pro requirements. Learning about evidence or investigation does not turn the app into an extraction tool or qualify a user to conduct a professional investigation.
